How to inspect and open a case
The case page is the source of truth for that case’s item pool. A collection name, cover or rarity color does not tell you the chance of receiving a particular item.
- Open the case catalog and choose a case that interests you.
- Inspect its contents. Compare the item chances and reference values.
- Use Demo open to preview the experience without changing your balance or collection.
- For an account opening, review the selected currency, opening count and total cost before starting.
How drop chances work
Skinstake assigns each item a weight. Its chance is that weight divided by the sum of all weights in the case. For example, a weight of 25 in a pool totaling 1,000 gives a 2.5% chance. This is an explanation of the calculation, not the odds of a particular case.
A 2.5% chance does not mean one win is guaranteed within 40 openings. Random outcomes can cluster or leave long gaps. Each displayed chance describes the probability of an opening, not a schedule of future results.
Skinstake’s custom cases do not necessarily match Valve’s official containers or drop distribution. Always read the current case contents instead of assuming that every gold or red item has the same chance across cases.
Item values, collection records and inventory
Item values help you compare case contents and calculate game returns. Review the case price, currency and possible returns before opening. Market reference prices can change and are not a guaranteed external sale price.
Account openings settle to your selected balance and record the discovered skin in your collection. Collection history is not an additional reward to claim. Gifted inventory skins have their own actions: sell an eligible item for Shards, or request an item payout when that option is available.
Opening alone or in a case battle
A solo opening resolves for your account. A case battle uses a shared sequence of cases for the participating seats and settles according to its selected battle mode. Inspect the cases in either format, then review the total stake rather than just the price of the first case.
If you want to design the contents yourself, the case builder lets you choose catalog items and drop chances. Review the resulting price before creating the case. Keep its name and cover descriptive so other players understand what they are browsing.
